Step 1.
Check the theme you can enter for, it’ll be listed on the right side of the Voting Page or at the very top of the Submit Page. The theme you can submit to day will be labeled as “Next challenge:”. Please note that since 12/28/07 you cannot enter the contest that is being voted on.
Step 2.
Now that you know what contest you enter for, check to how much time you have left. It will be listed on both pages.
On the Voting Page
Scroll down and look at the bottom panel on the right side of the page, it will tell you what contest you can enter and right below that is the time remaining to enter that contest. You have 24 hours total to enter for each theme. Entires are accepted from 12:00:00 pm (noon) PT (California time) two days before the contest can be voted on to 11:59:59 am (almost noon) PT the day before you can vote.
On the Submit Page
Directly below where it states “Next challenge: “Theme”” is the time left for you to submit your outfit in hours: minutes: seconds for the contest listed above it.
Step 3.
Your Outfit
If you already have an outfit you want to enter, double check it with the Minimum Coverage Guide skin for Males or Females. (Note, the link will bring you to a page where you will be gifted the skin automatically, they will then be in your inventory under skintones, to get both the male and female skins, click both links). Put on your outfit, then put on the Minimum Coverage Guide Skin. Spin your avatar around and check to see if you can see the red of the Minimum Coverage Guide Skin on your avatar. If the pose or angle you plan on using allows you to see up a skirt or down a shirt, please check for red there as well.
If you do not already have an outfit, feel free to create one from pieces you already own, or visit the Catalog, just keep the theme in mind and please make sure to check the outfit with the MCG (minimum coverage guide) before you buy.
Note: Beginner outfits aren’t seen as very “good” by many of the voters, so put some thought into your outfit to make it unique!
Step 4.
Your Entry.
Now that you have determined if the outfit itself is all right, please make sure not to show any Access Pass items, poses, or themes in your picture. Strippers and stripper poles as well as extensive swearing (please note that bitch, bastard, damn, hell, ass and asshole are okay to include) and murder/suicide and other such adult themes are not allowed in the Daily Outfits Challenge. Nudity, suicide, murder, and adult items/themes will result in a guilty mark on your record and being removed from the DOC for the day.
Put on the skin you wish to use in your outfit (you don’t need to wear the MCG, minimum coverage guide in your outfit) and place your avatar as you want. Once you like the angle you have, please type in *saveOutfit or go to your buddy window, click on Buddies, Outfits, Save Current Outfit. If you wish to include your background, just take the picture. If you wish to not show your background, click on the yellow dot in the gray box to hide the scene in your picture. Click on the larger box with the avatar standing in it to take the picture.
Step 5.
You should automatically be brought to the edit outfit page. There you will be able to edit the title and description of your outfit as well as the privacy setting. To be able to enter the outfit in the contest, it must be set to the privacy setting of “for everyone”. Click where it says “my outfit” next to the word “Name:”. Type in the title of your outfit there, a good title shows that your entry is on topic (one of the biggest reasons outfits are removed is because they are off topic). Next click in the box next to the word “Description:”. Additional information about the outfit and/or why it relates to the theme belongs there.
Theme: Favorite Time of Day
Ex:
Title: “Dawn, Time to Sleep”
Description: “As a cat, my favorite time of the day is dawn when I wake up my owners, and then curl up in a window or sunny spot to take a nap.”The actual outfit pictured above
Do not include your avatar name in the title or description as it is seen as cheating.
If you already have an outfit picture that you want to change the title or description on, please visit Your Outfits, then click on the little “edit” link below the outfit who’s title and/or description you wish to change.
Submitting your outfit
Now that you’ve checked the outfit itself, the items, taken the picture, titled and described your outfit, you can submit it. Go to the Submit Page, read over the rules and prizes, the choose the outfit you wish to enter from the drop down menu at the very bottom of your page. Make sure you have chosen the outfit you really want to enter (you may wish to pull up your saved outfit page to check the title), the click on submit. Congratulations, you have now submitted an outfit to the Daily Outfits Challenge!
For anyone who has not yet seen the voting page, or is confused by it, here is a voting page (without the entries) that I have labeled for you!
For anyone who has not yet seen the submit page, or is confused by it, here is a labeled submit page!
Reasons for removal from the DOC:
1. Violation of the MCG Please note that while NO red should show around or through each piece of your outfit, we do allow a little wiggle room determined by the staff member removing the outfits.
2. An off topic entry (please see step 1. to determine the theme, and step 5. for how to name and add a description to your outfit).
3. Your avatar name in your entry (or a tell, such as including a rarely used word or set of symbols in all or most of entries).
4. AP items, poses, actions, or themes (for example, an entry having to do with adult relations that those under 18 should not see will be removed).
5. Entries that have been altered beyond items that exist in IMVU (this includes photoshopping your entry, and taking a picture that is not from the IMVU window).
6. Entries where the outfit listed does not match the outfit shown in the picture.
If you wish to enroll as a mod, please answer the following questions in an e-mail to Trinneko@imvu.com:
1. Why do you want to be a mod?
2. How well do you know the Virtual Goods Policy and the mcg?
3. How often do you enter?
4. Do you have a sense of humor ?(I have found that having one helps make modding a little more fun)
5. Would you be willing to speak with me on IMVU?
